International Spring

In the framework of the University of Pécs Internationalisation Program the Directorate for International Relations organizes International Spring for the second time, which came into being, among other reasons, so that the residents of Pécs can get to know better the customs and culture of the more than 4000 students coming from all parts of the world and studying in Pécs. The events will be held from March to May with interesting and diverse programs at a wide variety of locations in the city.

On 19 March Asia Days is going to start with the introduction of Indonesia: from 6 p.m. traditional dance performances, screening of documentaries and gastronomy tasting are going to enrich the program in the main hall of the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Sciences in Ifjúság street.

On 20 March, in the framework of China Day, the program starts from 3.30 p.m. in the House of Arts and Literature, and then from 5 p.m. Dr. István Tarrósy is going to give a lecture in the building of the Rector’s Office. In the Knowledge Centre a photo exhibition displaying the work of the Pécs Confucius Institute is going to open at 6 p.m., and then from 7 p.m. we can get acquainted with the mystical power of the Shaolin Kung-Fu monks on the stage of the Kodály Centre.

On 21 March from 5 p.m. on the stage of E78 in the Zsolnay Quarter the following are going to be introduced: photo exhibition, sitar and tabla concerts, dance performances, a lecture about India and an interactive yoga performance are also among the programs.

On 22 March we can gain an insight in Japanese culture at the base of the Pécs Reménysugár Association in Király street where we can get to know the mysteries of how to create origami and furoshiki while tasting various teas. The program is going to be closed by the lecture of a Japanese student studying at the Faculty of Humanities International Relations Program.
