Lecturer: Dr. Marina Radmilović , University of Zagreb
Lecture title: ‘Modelling stroke: Impact of comorbidity, age and sex’

Dr. Marina Radmilović is an assistant professor at the Department of Histology and Embryology, University of Zagreb School of Medicine. After graduating at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Zagreb, in 2008, she obtained her PhD degree in the field of Neuroscience at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2013. During her postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Neurological Research in Cologne she was working on the temporospatial dynamics of stem cell graft integration into the brain using noninvasive imaging modalities. In the last eight years she has been the principal investigator and collaborator in several national and international projects focused on MRI and micro-CT imaging of regeneration after ischemic stroke and traumatic spinal cord injury. She currently heads a Croatian science foundation installation project focused on defining the role of bradykinin and its receptors in brain and retinal ischemic lesion development in diabetes.
