Lecturer: Audrey Chagnot, Caen Normandy University
Lecture title:
The glymphatic system

Wednesday, 26 May 2021 , 17.00 - 18.30 PM (UTC+2, CEST)

Audrey CHAGNOT is a PhD student in neurosciences at the Blood and Brain @ Caen Normandy Institute (BB@C) and at the Caen Normandy University. She started in 2017 her thesis about the magnetic resonance imaging of the glymphatic system, directed by Denis VIVIEN and Gael CHETELAT. Her work emphasizes the use of alternate protocols with mid-weight contrast agents, diffusion imaging and awake imaging in mice to measure the interactions between cerebrospinal fluid and brain interstitial fluid. She also contributed to several published articles exploring the glymphatic maturation of mice and the possible impact of glymphatic disruption in humans, including stroke, craniectomy and anesthesia. After her thesis, she aims to pursue her career in translational research, with a strong interest in neurodevelopment, ageing, cerebrospinal fluid regulation and brain imaging.
