Graduation ceremony of dentists and biotechnologists

Our School organised the graduation ceremony of dentists and biotechnologists on 10 July: 38 dentistry students and 6 biotechnology students successfully passed the requirements of the final exam.

In the frame of the graduation ceremony, students who graduated summa cum laude received a 14-carat gold Elizabeth ring decorated with the crest of the Medical School and the 2021 yearbook in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement.

Fathi Meetra, on behalf of the dentistry students, and Mohamad Aref Mayo, on behalf of the biotechnologists, expressed their gratitude.

The Gyula Mestyán award was handed over to dr. Benjámin Farkas and he was also congratulated on his achievement in the Research Pitches Contest of the Compostela Group of Universities.

Dr. Ákos Nagy, associate professor, head of the Clinical Center Department of Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, emphasized in his ceremonial speech that they managed to overcome the fear caused by the coronavirus epidemic together and they found solutions for education by adapting to the changing circumstances and introducing new methods. The head of the Dentistry Programme invited everyone to celebrate, as he said, to celebrate what we may not have noticed for many, many years: we can be together and see the people around us smiling at us. He wished the young doctors to become respected doctors for their patients and their environment, guiding those entrusted to them through even the greatest difficulties.

Professor Péter Balogh, Vice-Chair of the Department of Immunology and Biotechnology, greeted and congratulated the biotechnologists on their results. In his speech, he pointed out that the coronavirus was a major blow to all of us, but he also added that it is precisely with the science of biotechnology that we can overcome it, and those present can play a major role in this. He spoke about encountering an external threat similar to the coronavirus in their lifetime but expressed his belief that they would stand their ground and manage to overcome the difficulties.

At the end of the ceremony, the newly inaugurated graduates spoke to their teachers and their families.
